Bitter Gourd: Secret benefits of Human Health

Its many properties are well known to all diabetic patients who specially consume its juice and its cooked dish. The flowing text details about its many more properties.

Chemical composition: It contains a fragrant volatile oil, carotene, glycosides.
Properties: It is bitter. It promotes digestive functions, is purgative, bitter and cold. It is aphoristic; it cures cough, anemia, and infection of wounds, burning sensation, dermatomes and its anti pyre-tic. It is cool, purifies, excretory system purgative, slightly bitter and does not cause VATA.     It cures fever. Blood disorders, cough, jaundice, diabetes, and is anthelmintic.
Medicinal usage:---
Headache: Take 10 to 12 ml. juice of its leaves and mix cow’s ghee and juice of PITTAPAPADA. Apply this paste on forehead.
Eye disorders: Encase of haziness and night blindness, take a rusting vessel. Rub the juice its leaves and black pepper in it and apply it as eye liner in the eyes and also apply it around the eyes.
Ear pain: Warm the juice of its fresh leaves or fruits and put a few drops in the ear. Steatites: Mix chalk powder in its juice and apply on the boil in the mouth.
For vomiting: Give 10 to 12 gm. juice of leaves with little amount of vinegar or rock salt mix in it. It causes vomiting and purgation and cures the disorders.
Swelling of throat: Grind dried fruit in vinegar, warm the paste and apply on the throat. It cures the swelling of throat.
Bleeding piles: Give 50 to 100 ml. decoction of the upper thick part of it’s root with sugar mix in it, every morning and evening.
Sexual vigor: Thicken the juice of its leaves and fruits on fire and prepare tablet of 3 gm. each. Give a little amount of milk to the patient and then give one tablet to be swallowed flowed by little amount of honey. It improves sexual power.
Skin disorders: Mix its whole plant, cinnamon, peeper and rich in oil of wild almonds and apply this oil on the affected area. It cures itching and such related skin disorders. Apply the juice of its leaves on the head. It cures bails.
